Wolverhampton let a two-goal lead slip in the second-half but remain firmly in promotion contention following the result.

Luke Ward opened the scoring in the 29th-minute before Luqman Wirba doubled the advantage eight minutes later.

However, the visitors were unable to maintain their lead after the break. Harry Davis started Northwich’s comeback seven minutes after the restart, before Jefferson Abreu levelled for the hosts.

Wolverhampton held on to secure a point, leaving them fifth in the standings and six points adrift of the league leaders. They visit bottom club Uttoxeter Town on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, mid-table Tividale began 2026 with a defeat on the road at Winsford United.

Winchurch McDonough’s free-kick was parried straight into the path of Blake Robinson, who converted to give the hosts the lead. The Dale were not behind for long, however, drawing level 10 minutes later.

Kallum Boyle restored Winsford’s advantage just before half-time, before adding his second of the game after the break.

The defeat was Tividale’s fourth in succession, a run that has seen them concede 14 goals. They sit 12th in the table with 19 points from 22 matches.

All other matches in the league and Division One were postponed due to adverse weather brought by Storm Goretti.
