Marc Albrighton won't fear Chelsea

Winger Marc Albrighton has insisted Villa won't be daunted by Chelsea in their first league showdown since their Stamford Bridge annihilation.

The claret and blues host the Premier League's champions and current leaders in Saturday's late kick-off bidding for revenge, after their 7-1 league thumping and FA Cup semi-final defeat to the Blues in the spring.

It promises to be the toughest challenge of Albrighton's career, with the wing wonder, whom Villa hope will recover from the groin problem which ruled him out of England under-21 action in midweek, set to go head-to-head with Ashley Cole.

But the 20-year-old is not fazed and has vowed to treat facing the England regular as if he were a youth-team reserve.

He said: "I wouldn't say it's daunting, it's exciting more than anything to play against players like Ashley Cole.

"It will be unbelievable. Every player in that team is a top world-class player, so if you can play well against them, you can play well against anybody.

"So I'm looking forward to it and hopefully we'll get the three points. I think at the minute Ashley Cole just might be the best left-back in the world. But I don't think I can think too much about that.

"I've just got to go out there and play just as I would if I'm playing in a reserve game against a young left-back from the youth teams or something like that.

"I think I've just got to get on with the game and just play the game, not the occasion."

Villa are aiming to bounce back from defeat at Tottenham a fortnight ago - Gerard Houllier's first defeat as manager - and can take heart from defeating Carlo Ancelotti's men 2-1 in last year's corresponding fixture.

Albrighton said: "We definitely want to bounce back as soon as possible. The lads will relish facing Chelsea at Villa Park.

"It will probably be a full house against the top team in the Premier League at the minute.

"Florent Malouda has shone this season and last. He's been scoring a lot of goals and creating them too.

"They're absolutely flying, so for us to go out there we'll be the underdogs, but we'll relish that and hopefully we'll get a few points off them."
