Aston Villa receive Joao Palhinha boost

Bayern Munich have confirmed their plans to move on Aston Villa target Joao Palhinha this summer - according to reports.

The former Fulham midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, has been linked with a move to Villa Park.

Despite featuring in a friendly against Wehen Wiesbaden, Palhinha has allegedly been made aware that he will not feature in Vincent Kompany’s plans along with full-back Sacha Boey.

“They’re training with us, but they won’t play an important role here. I know they’re aware of that,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund is reported to have told German outlet Abendzeitung.

“They’re both good players. They’ll continue to train and play here for now, but the plan is for them to take the next step somewhere else.”
