Aston Villa interested in World Cup star - reports
Villa are reportedly interested.
Villa are interested in signing Switzerland winger Ruben Vargas, reports have suggested.
The 27-year-old impressed at the World Cup with two goals for his country, as they were knocked out in extra-time of the semi-finals to Argentina.
Despite the player’s stock currently being high, reports in Spain have claimed his club Sevilla are willing to selling, but they will accept no less than £17million to secure his services.
Villa have been credited with interest in Vargas, alongside fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Newcastle.
Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye will not be joining Villa this summer.
Unai Emery has reportedly been tracking the 18-year-old, who has been regularly involved with the first team, but it has been suggested a move to Villa is unlikely and the player has instead been offered to Liverpool and Manchester City.
There have also been reports linking Villa to Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, but the 23-year-old is also attracting interest from PSG and Juventus.
Italian giants Juventus have been eyeing a new goalkeeper and have also been looking at Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, as Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti has claimed Martinez wants to leave Villa.
