Alan Hutton has a point to prove

Aston Villa new-boy Alan Hutton believes manager Alex McLeish will get the best out of him and admitted he arrives at the club with a point to prove.

The 26-year-old defender has twice played under McLeish earlier in his career with Glasgow Rangers and Scotland and revealed that being reunited with the Villa boss was one of the main reasons he joined the club.

Hutton said: "It was massive, that was the whole thing about coming here. It is a new start for me but I have worked with him both at Rangers and with Scotland.

"He knows how I play and how to get the best out of me. Overall it was an easy decision for me.

"I feel I still have a lot to give and a lot to offer to Villa."
