The 24-year-old will join up with his team-mates for the first day of pre-season training on Monday.

But Grealish is also set to meet with Purlsow to discuss his long-term future with Manchester United still keen on the midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is likely to step up his interest in Grealish if they are unable to strike a deal for Jadon Sancho – with Borussia Dortmund continuing to play hard ball.

Villa, though, are determined to get what they feel their skipper is worth and have put an £80million price tag on his head.

Grealish has three years left on his Villa deal worth around £65,000-a-week at his boyhood club.

But it is understood the midfielder is keen on a move to Old Trafford.

Villa are believed to be keeping tabs on Norwich playmaker Emi Buendia should their captain leave the club this summer.

Despite Norwich being relegated, the Argentine impressed in the top flight last term and is believed to want a Premier League return.

The 23-year-old – who can play on both wings or as a number 10 – created seven of Norwich’s 26 Premier League goals last term.

It is understood he will be able to leave Carrow Road for around £20million.

As well as Villa, Crystal Palace and Everton have also been linked with a move for Buendia, who joined Norwich from Getafe for just £1.8million in 2018.
