Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan has departed the club on-loan once again, joining Birmingham City for the rest of the season.

The former Brentford striker spent the first portion of this campaign on-loan at Stoke City, scoring just twice.

Having fallen out of favour at the BET365 Stadium, his loan was cut short, with the striker now crossing the Second City divide to play for Blues for the rest of this season.

This move will be his third temporary spell away from Villa, having joined Sheffield United on-loan last season as both sides earned promotion to the Premier League, ahead of his move to the Potteries.

The 27-year-old has made 61 appearances in claret and blue, scoring 10 times. He earned his move to B6 after a brilliant spell at Brentford, during which he managed 21 goals in just 36 appearances - form he has struggled to replicate since.

Blues currently sit 18th in the Championship table, eight points clear of the bottom three and 13 points off the play-off spots.
