Aston Villa face decision on move for Wolves defender Kortney Hause as deadline looms
Villa will decide in the next 48 hours whether to press ahead with a £3million deal for Wolves defender Kortney Hause.
The 23-year-old helped Dean Smith’s team win promotion to the Premier League after joining on loan from Molineux in January.
It is believed Villa have until Thursday to trigger an option to make the move a permanent one.
They would then need to agree personal terms with the former England under-21 international, in order to complete the deal.
Hause, who has found opportunities limited at Wolves following the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo, made 12 appearances for Villa, scoring one goal.
Deployed at both left-back and centre-back, he recovered from a tricky start and played a key role in the defensive improvement which helped Villa’s late season surge to clinch promotion.
Hause started the first five games of the club’s record 10-match winning run before suffering a hip injury but returned to make a key substitute cameo in last week’s play-off final win over Derby.
Villa are facing a significant summer rebuild as they prepare for life back in the top flight after three years away.
The club have released nine players in the past week, including forgotten £12million man Ross McCormack.
