The Toffees winger joins Steve Bruce's side just a matter of days after the capture of Anwar El-Ghazi from Lille, strengthening the club's options out wide.

The 29-year-old was spotted at Villa Park during the 2-2 draw with Brentford, with the club beating Middlesbrough to his signing.

The former Crystal Palace star admitted that the club was a big draw, and expressed his intentions to get the side promoted after joining.

"My main aim here is to get this club promoted. A club of this stature has to be in the Premier League." He said.

"I looked around both Villa Park and the training ground, and me and my family just said, 'wow'. It's Premier League everywhere you look."

"I'm here to make myself smile again and use all my ability to try and help the team. It's great to be here."
