Aston Villa in talks with Melbourne City over Ross McCormack move
Forgotten man Ross McCormack could be set to leave Villa and head Down Under to join Melbourne City.
The £12million striker is poised to end his exile at Villa Park by joining the A-League outfit on loan.
Talks between the two clubs are ongoing and a deal could be completed within the coming days, should McCormack agree to the 10,500-mile move.
McCormack has made just two substitute appearances for Villa this season, both in the Carabao Cup, having fallen down the pecking order.
The 31-year-old has netted just three goals for the club since a big money move from Fulham in August 2016 and had a high-profile falling out with boss Steve Bruce.
McCormack angered the Villa boss when he claimed he was not able to attend training, due to the gates to his house being stuck.
The former Rangers and Leeds hitman spent the second half of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and though he returned to the fold for the start of pre-season, McCormack was unable to force his way back into Bruce’s plans.
Sunderland were keen on taking McCormack on loan during the summer transfer window but were unable to agree a deal with Villa.
