Aston Villa transfer news: Gary Gardner completes Barnsley loan switch
Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has completed his deadline day loan switch to Barnsley.
The 25-year-old has been allowed to join the Tykes after falling down the pecking order at Villa Park.
Gardner had featured just once for the first-team this season and will view the move to Oakwell as a chance to kick-start his career.
Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom said: "We’re really pleased with the signing of Gary, he’s an important addition to give us greater flexibility within the squad and we look forward to working with him.
"He is going to help us this season and we’re definitely looking forward to that as well.
“I would like to thank Aston Villa for allowing Gary to come here.”
