'Don't forget about me' - Priestley Farquharson offers timely Walsall reminder

It was the perfect way to mark his significant milestone and Farquharson now hopes it can serve as a platform to build from.

'Wanted to show everyone how good I am'

"I just wanted to show everyone how good I am because sometimes people can forget you," the defender joked.

"They should hopefully remember me after today, but we have such a good squad and it's not just about me."

The 28-year-old produced a dominant display alongside the towering Aden Flint and Evan Weir to help Walsall keep their first league clean sheet in 10 games.

Rico Browne had previously deputised at right centre-back in the absence of the injured Harrison Burke, who returned to training last week and is expected to be available for the visit of Bromley on Saturday.

But Farquharson feels the competition across defence will only raise performance levels, and was particularly complimentary about the influence of the experienced Flint.

'Aden Flint is a monster... a real leader'

"Rico and Harrison are top players and everyone pushes each other. We have a good mindset and a good dynamic in the team," he added.

"Aden is just a monster. You know he's going to win 99.9 per cent of things that come to him.

"He is solid and offers security which makes you feel safe. You always know he has got you and that's why I think he is so impactful for this team.

"We know he is the foundation in the centre of the three and he sets the tone. He has got that side where he'll gee you up, and then other times where he'll tell you if you need to do better.

"He just knows what to say and how to say it at the right time. A real leader."
