EMI MARTINEZ

Maybe needed more protection from his team-mates for the goal but it was the latest set piece on which he has been suspect. Solid for the rest of the game.

MATTY CASH

Found life tough against Garnacho in the first half and was booked. Refused to fold and got stronger as the game went on.

Battled 6

EZRI KONSA

Another strong performance from the centre-back, particularly in the first half when Villa were seriously under the cosh. Never gets flustered.

Unflappable 7

VICTOR LINDELOF

The Sweden international is getting better with every performance. Won several big headers and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

Dominant 7

IAN MAATSEN

Perhaps a little fortunate not to concede a penalty early in the second half. Barely had a chance to get forward for the first hour but then tested Sanchez.

Moments 6

BOUBACAR KAMARA

Unusually wasteful in possession during the early stages but got more dominant as the evening wore on. Involved in equaliser. Will be a big miss at Arsenal.

Pass 7

YOURI TIELEMANS

Struggled to find space in the first half but then controlled the game from a more advanced position after Emery had made his changes.

Delivery 7

JOHN MCGINN

A tough evening for the skipper still saw him make one of the most important contributions of the match when he denied Garnacho a tap in.

Vital 6

MORGAN ROGERS

Wasted the only two real openings he had in the first half but excelled in the last 30 minutes, laying on the equaliser for Watkins.

Assist 7

EMI BUENDIA

Back in the team but did not make the impact he would have desired. Too often crowded out as Chelsea dominated proceedings in the first half.

Subdued 5

DONYELL MALEN

The Netherlands international has enjoyed a fine season but this was further proof he is not suited in the lone striker role. Barely had a touch of note.
