Cesar Peixoto confirms plan for Wolves midfielder after bid rejected
The club turned down an offer earlier this week.
Cesar Peixoto has confirmed Wolves have no intention of selling Boubacar Traore before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The midfielder is a target for Anderlecht, who saw a £3.5million offer rejected earlier this week.
And though the Belgian club remain interested, Peixoto has declared Traore is going nowhere.
Speaking after Saturday’s 4-1 home win over Stoke, the Wolves boss said: “He won’t go, he stays with us.”
When then asked if Traore was happy, he replied: “Yeah, I think so. I think the players are happy.
“When the things are in the right way, when we win, it’s more easy to work and the players are more happy.
“Bouba stays with us because he’s an important player to support Andre and fight with each other to stay more competitive in the team.”
Traore is among several players whose futures have been in doubt this summer.
Peixoto confirmed on Friday goalkeeper Jose Sa could still leave, while striker Sasa Kalajdzic and Hwang Hee-chan are seeking new clubs and training away from the first-team group.
