Bournemouth back Jonny Stuttle to seize 'fantastic opportunity' at Walsall

Bournemouth academy coach James Lowy has backed Walsall loanee Jonny Stuttle to "seize his opportunity" in League Two next season.

Stuttle arrived at Bescot on a season-long loan from the South Coast earlier this summer ahead of his first campaign in the Football League.

The 19-year-old impressed at Farnborough during the second half of last season - scoring 10 times in 19 games in the National League South.

Walsall have developed a strong track record on the loan market in recent seasons, especially with the successes of Tommy Simkin, Emmanuel Adegboyega, Freddie Draper and Nathan Lowe.

And Lowy is hopeful that the experience Stuttle gains at Walsall will have similar benefits for his career going forward.

"In terms of trying to develop his game going forward, the exposure, the challenges and the experience that he's going to get at Walsall will be fantastic for his development," Lowey said.

"Coming up against some real high quality opposition will be a great environment for him going forward in his career. His definite strengths are his instinct and his knack for scoring goals.

"He has always had a really good awareness and been really proactive in and around the box. He's scored a real variety of goals throughout his time here in the academy.

"As he has grown older, especially in the latter end of his youth development years and into his time with the under-21s, he has really developed himself into being an all-round No 9.

"If he's given that opportunity to have a good potential run in the first team, which he has got to earn of course, but if he gets that opportunity then I'm sure he'll grab it with both hands."

"This loan opportunity will be massive for him. Trying to show that he can perform at that level and hopefully contribute to the success that Walsall have in the season.

"Then hopefully with that experience, coming back here to really challenge and push on in the last step of his career."
