Aston Villa 1 Leeds United 1: Player ratings
We rate the players after Villa's 1-1 draw with Leeds United.
EMI MARTINEZ
A match which continued his curious season. Question marks over the goal conceded but then a big save to keep Villa in it.
Save: 7
MATTY CASH
One of Villa’s better performers. Linked up well with Sancho in the final half-hour. Strange he was taken off.
Solid: 7
EZRI KONSA
Picked up an assist for the goal after getting up high to win the header. Solid enough in defence though Villa have looked more secure.
Header: 6
TYRONE MINGS
Denied a second goal in as many Premier League matches by a strong Stach block. Passing a disappointment.
Stable: 6
IAN MAATSEN
A mixed performance from the left-back, who got into some decent positions during the second half but couldn’t really make the most of them.
Delivery: 6
DOUGLAS LUIZ
This felt something of a struggle for the Brazil international, who struggled in the midfield battle and overhit too many passes.
Miscues: 5
AMADOU ONANA
Shouldn’t really have given Darlow a chance to make the save on the stroke of half-time. Some good moments, some not so good.
Denied: 6
LEON BAILEY
A performance which did nothing to justify his January recall. Made countless poor decisions and should have been replaced sooner.
Poor: 4
MORGAN ROGERS
Under increasing pressure to make things happen due to the failings of those around him. Improved as the game went on.
Burden: 6
EMI BUENDIA
Kept plugging away, though he seemed to struggle with the physicality at times. Denied by a fine Darlow save.
Persistent: 5
OLLIE WATKINS
Snatched at a good chance before the break. Had precious little in the way of service. Never stopped working but needs a goal.
Effort: 5
SUBSTITUTES
Ross Barkley 7 (for Onana, 61), Jadon Sancho 7 (for Bailey, 61), Tammy Abraham 7 (for Buendia, 75), Andres Garcia (for Cash, 87), Lamare Bogarde (for Luiz, 87) Subs not used: Digne, Torres, Lindelof, Wright (gk).
