West Brom man walking suspension tightrope ahead of Championship yellow card cut off point

West Brom have had their fair share of selection issues across the course of a dreadful season.

With Albion in the middle of a relegation dog fight - they have been left without key players due to injury.

Nat Phillips and Chris Mepham are currently on the sidelines - with Albion's three managers this season all facing headaches when it has come to selections.

And after the dismal defeat on the road at Oxford United on Saturday - they could soon be facing another problem.

The cut off point for yellow cards is fast approaching - with any player racking up ten yellow cards before the end of the 37th match of the season being slapped with a ban.

If they hit the ten card threshold then they will be banned for two games.

One of the players close to the limit is Phillips, who is unlikely to pass ten yellow cards given his injury situation.

But Callum Styles crept close to the line on Saturday - when he was cautioned at the Kassam Stadium.

The booking took him on to nine yellow cards for the campaign - meaning he is walking a tightrope in the fixtures against Sheffield United on Saturday and Southampton on Wednesday.

No other Albion players look likely to be hit with ban - with Jayson Molumby currently sitting on six bookings and George Campbell and Alex Mowatt both on five.
