The clash at Molineux will take place on Friday, March 6, with an 8pm start and be screened live on BBC One.

It will come just three days after the two clubs face each other in the Premier League on Tuesday, March 3 (kick-off 8.15pm).

Rob Edwards’ men have beaten Shrewsbury Town and Grimsby to reach the fifth round of the Cup and will go in as underdogs against the Reds, the reigning Premier League champions.

The Cup offers the chance to add some cheer to what has otherwise been a miserable season, with Wolves sitting bottom of the Premier League and seemingly doomed to relegation.

"It's exciting,” said Edwards, when discussing the draw earlier this week. “A tough game obviously - one of the most difficult ones you can get - but we're at home and we'll look forward to it."

Next month’s tie is the fourth between Wolves and Liverpool in the FA Cup since 2017. The most recent of those was in 2023, with Harvey Elliott scoring the only goal for the Reds in a third round replay at Molineux.
