Ollie Watkins outlines season goal target after continuing Aston Villa resurgence
Ollie Watkins believes he can still hit the 20-goal mark for Villa this season after continuing his resurgence in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
The England international opened the scoring with his fourth goal in the last three matches as Villa bounced back impressively from last week’s 4-1 defeat at Arsenal.
Watkins, the club’s all-time Premier League top scorer, found the net only once during the first three months of the campaign.
But he now has six goals in his last eight appearances and is confident of a strong second half to the season as Villa aim to stay in the title race, while also fighting for glory in the Europa League.
Watkins said: “I always get into double figures for the season but yeah, 20 goals is always the target and I believe I can do that.
