The 22-year-old, who is on loan from League One side Blackpool, weighed in with three goals and one assist for Walsall last month.

Finnigan netted his first career brace in the Saddlers' 4-2 win at Newport County on November 8 and rounded off November by scoring in a 3-1 home success over Bromley.

"Ryan has had a great month. He looks really athletic and is really enjoying his football," boss Mat Sadler said.

"He looks in a good place so I'm really pleased with everything he is doing.

"It's a great accolade and achievement for him personally, but I'm sure he'll talk about the team because he's a really good team player.

"Most importantly, he's a top, top person and someone I've got such a good amount of time for.

"I love working with him and I'm chuffed for him."

Finnigan had been plagued by injuries in the two seasons prior to his loan spell at Walsall, but has really kicked on since arriving in the summer.

In total, Finnigan has scored four goals and set-up three more in 21 appearances in all competitions this season.

He added: "It's been a great month on reflection. For me personally and the team, we've had some great wins and great performances.

"It's been really nice to contribute in the way of goals and assists, something which I wanted to do when I first joined.

"The overwhelming feeling at the minute for me, as the cliché has it, is that I'm just grateful for the environment I'm in.

"The team, everyone associated with the club, has allowed me to be myself and I'm enjoying my football.

"I'm pleased but the task now is to continue because by doing that it helps the team out and it really separates yourself from other people.

"So hopefully I can keep building and do that."
