Fan column: Disgruntled Wolves fans have every right to feel aggrieved
Wolves fan columnist John Lalley has his say.

They won’t take a blind bit of notice; they will simply plough on regardless.
When it comes to tin ears, they couldn’t hear an earthquake erupt never mind a pin drop.
No chance; the pre-match protests will fall comfortably on deaf ears wondering what in the name of Esports all this ungrateful insurgence is about. The stragglers filed into Molineux like mourners late for a family funeral and then left early seemingly intent on securing the best seats at the ensuing wake.
We can shout and rave and storm but they remain aloof and resolute in their cold indifference towards their customers. In short, they don’t give a hoot. And sadly, that sense of apathy is rapidly extending in the mindset of an increasing number of disgruntled supporters who see no end to this lurching deterioration.
Fans stoically accept being put upon and taken for granted but being the butt of ridicule is another matter. Nobody cares for being made a laughing stock and right now the sound of mockery is deafening, even though our owners can’t decipher a decibel of it.
At the outset, Fosun were excellent owners; any sort of balanced appraisal has to adhere to this fact. But their commitment has waned over a considerable period of time to the grotesque detriment of the club. For whatever reason, their benevolence is at an end; unfortunately, their stewardship most dishonourably isn’t and we are reaping the whirlwind.
It’s the worst feeling for any fan when a home game festers brimming with resentment, tetchiness and impatience which spirals into anger and disdain. Strand Larsen and Arias have endured pitiful campaigns so far, but the sneering sarcasm as they were both replaced just made a desperate evening even worse.
Good, bad or indifferent, it depresses me to the core when a player in a gold shirt is singled out for ridicule; this malaise goes so much deeper.
Couldn’t help thinking back to this Manchester fixture last season. Wolves struggling, ebullient new coach in situ; Molineux a cauldron of passionate support under the lights. United overpowered. Absolute bliss; the satisfaction indescribable.
Less than a year ago; seems like a lifetime. The next five months won’t be hurrying along either; beyond depressing.
