Continued his renaissance with another solid showing. His return to something like his old self has been big for Villa.

Caused problems with his corner deliveries and was unlucky not to score late on when denied by Dubravka.

Another fine performance from the Frenchman, who looked like he had more time than anyone else on the pitch. Excellent pass for Malen’s opener.

LAMARE BOGARDE

Arguably his finest performance yet for Villa. Senior players will find it hard to dislodge him from the team if he keeps up these levels.

Saw his scoring streak end at three matches but he gave it everything, as usual, for the hour he was on the pitch. An excellent fortnight.

Delivered two great finishes and caused Burnley all kinds of trouble with his running. A fine demonstration of the player he can be.
