West Brom winger rewarded for Wrexham impact as summer signing misses out for Portsmouth clash

Ryan Mason has made one change for his Albion side to face Portsmouth - while a summer signing is not named in the squad.

Much of the midweek debate was around Mikey Johnston - and whether he had done enough to earn a recall following his two assists in the victory over Wrexham.

And the answer is yes, as he comes in for Karlan Grant who has started the first two league outings.

It is a deserved recall for Johnston - who endured a frustrating opening game as he was an unused substitute against Blackburn.

Elsewhere, summer signing Krystian Bielik has been left out of the squad. There is no word on whether this is injury related - but Mason will no doubt shed some light on the selection later in the day.

And it has paved the way for young Alex Williams to be named in a Championship squad for the very first time.

The Wales under 21 international was handed a surprise first senior start in the EFL Cup against Derby, and comes into the squad in place of Bielik.
