Newport were reduced to 10-men when Ciaran Brennan was shown a straight red card for a high challenge on Taylor Allen in the final 15 minutes.

The contest burst into life during the closing stages with Tommy Simkin sticking out a vital outstretched leg to deny Josh Martin from close-range.

Simkin then escaped punishment for a late challenge on Martin before Oisin McEntee had a goal ruled out for handball in the final minute.

Sadler said: "I thought today's performance was very good. I thought we were brave, I thought we were bold and we took the ball in good areas.
