Vitor Pereira lifts lid on summer plans and Wolves' recruitment

Vitor Pereira is ready to take Wolves to the 'next level' but admits he does not need to splash the cash to transform his team.

The head coach has dragged Wolves out of a relegation battle with a number of impressive victories since he replaced Gary O'Neil in December.

He is expected to have money available to make signings this summer, but owners Fosun are also expected to maintain their self-sustaining business model and Pereira says making the right signings is more important than spending big money.

"I expect to go with Wolves to the next level, the next step," Pereira said.

"This is what I'm thinking about.

"We don't need a lot of money, we just need to make the right decisions and have a plan.

"My focus is on this team and trying to get the best results possible until the end of the season.

"Keeping almost all of the players (is important) because we have a very good group.

"I want to work for another level, I want to take the next step with this club."

Pereira is also trying to transform Wolves' playing style on the pitch.

His 5-2-3 formation has worked at keeping the team in the top flight, but the head coach is now keen to evolve the team with small changes every week ahead of next season.

"Sometimes we try new things and the test is the game," he added.

"Sometimes we need to push a bit more and try, but if we feel the players are not comfortable doing it, it's better to come back and go again to the simple things.

"We are in the moment in the season where we can create different things and I like it.

"Every season we try to create a new piece to become a masterpiece.

"This is what I think about football.

"I had some experiences in my career where a player is playing in a different role because we asked them to do it.

"Players playing on the left start to play on the right, or the opposite.

"Imagine I start to ask Rayan not to play outside every time, but to come play inside.

"But the team must understand that when he comes inside, someone else must go outside.

"This is what you can create to surprise the opponents. This is the moment of the season that I'm demanding different things.

"Now they feel the confidence to do it."
