The Brazilian midfielder continues to impress in the Premier League and has been consistently linked to a move away.

New signing Munetsi admits he was shocked by the talent Gomes possesses and says everyone at Wolves hopes he stays with the club for years to come.

"If you move to the Premier League at a young age it shows that there's potential and quality in you," Munetsi said.

"Being in an environment where you're loved and appreciated it nurtures your talent even more.

"The first time that I saw him I thought 'wow, what a player'. With him and Andre, it's a strong midfield.

"He's someone that the club really cherishes. Everybody here loves him.

"People would love to see him spend a couple of seasons here and help the team achieve greater things.

"The talent is there and hopefully he can really keep on pushing and improve even more."

Munetsi's arrival has added a different dimension to Wolves' midfield, as someone who can play further upfield.

And the Zimbabwe international is pleased with the different midfield styles in the squad.

"Every player has certain different qualities," Munetsi said.

"The way they recruited, they tried to have a good balance with good technique, with aggressiveness with presence in the box.

"We have an all-around midfield in certain areas where one might be lacking the other one is covering.

"We can have good combinations, which can help us get good results."

Munetsi also has the ability to get up and down the pitch in his favoured number eight position as a box-to-box midfielder.

As a versatile option in the squad, Munetsi also relies on his physical ability and his engine and running power is a trait head coach Vitor Pereira specifically targeted when Wolves made the decision to sign Munetsi from France.

"It's something I'm thriving at, I've always wanted to work hard," Munetsi said.

"Especially in the last 15 minutes of the game, it's where most people are really tired, so this is where I really want to keep on pushing to get a good result because.

"It's something that was instilled in me when I was young, football is never over until the 90th minute, or the 100th minute these days.

"The engine is always very important, especially in the Premier League."
