The January signing has made a big impact on Wolves' defence since his arrival and felt a problem at half-time in the loss to Liverpool, but played on regardless.

He then withdrew in the second half with an unknown injury, that Pereira believes is a muscular problem.

Agbadou's potential absence will be a big blow to Wolves and a frustrated Pereira has warned his players to make smarter decisions and take precautions to avoid injury.

"Agbadou felt something at half-time and he should tell me that he felt something," Pereira said.

"He went to the second half and I think he got an injury.

"We must respect the body. If I feel something, it's time (to come off)."

Sam Johnstone and Rodrigo Gomes missed the game with knocks, while Hwang Hee-chan and Jorgen Strand Larsen are also on the sidelines.

Despite falling to defeat at Anfield, Wolves pushed the league leaders close and almost snatched a point.

The head coach was visibly frustrated at the first half performance but felt his side proved their worth in the second 45.

Pereira said: "The second half we proved we are prepared to compete with every team in this league.

"When I look at the game, I saw two different teams. The first team I didn't recognise on the pitch.

"I didn't recognise my team because we didn't play in my way, we didn't force the mistake, we didn't press them in the way that I want to press.

"But in the second half everything changed because the mental click changed everything.

"We played without fear, in our way with confidence, personality and trying to compete for the result with nothing blocking our minds.

"Our team has quality and we proved it. This is the lesson we must take from this game."

When asked what his half-time message was to his team, Pereira added: "Play to your level, I don't care about the result.

"Respect yourself, play with risks and press them.

"In the first half we came just for the party, just to see them play, and this is not my way to play.

"This is not our way to play and not our work, but I'm proud of what we did in the second half.

"We showed our quality, our personality. They showed we can be confident in the future."

Wolves face a trip to Bournemouth next before welcoming Fulham and Pereira says his team need to learn from their mistakes at Anfield.

He said: "In my opinion, we had too much respect for Liverpool in the first half.

"The block was there, but not to press, just waiting for the goal.

"This is something we must correct for the next game.

"We must be proactive and press them. The block is there to press, it's not a passive block.

"I didn't like the first half but I'm very proud of the second half."
