Steve Bull: Wolves should continue momentum with strong FA Cup starting XI

Premier League survival is obviously important, but a really good journey in the FA Cup would be brilliant, as Wolves take on Blackburn on Sunday.

Vitor Pereira will want consistency and momentum and a win over Blackburn can only help that.

I hope he plays a strong side to make sure the fans travelling up there have something to cheer about.

But some players will also be fighting for their shirt ahead of the trip to face Liverpool in the Premier League the following week.

Wolves are on a high with a win over Villa, Matheus Cunha's new contract and some deadline day signings and they need to maintain that momentum.

Cunha's new contract gives everyone peace of mind for the next few months.

He is an absolutely superb player and he deserves his new contract for all the hard work he puts in.

Mario Lemina has left now and I want to thank him for what he did for the club, he was an absolutely brilliant player.

I know nothing about our two deadline day signings other than them being big and strong - which is a nice addition to this squad.

Personally, I wasn't worried about getting a new midfielder, but we needed another centre-back and the club has managed it.

Emmanuel Agbadou came in earlier in the window and he's an unbelievable player.

Toti Gomes has not been in my good books lately, but he stepped up to the mark and he was absolutely outstanding against Villa.

The three of them, with Matt Doherty, were excellent and kept Villa quiet.

Like every other Wolves fan, I was a little bit nervous about the team that was named.

But Pereira made the right decision and it was a huge performance from everybody. Wolves did everything right.

We haven't had much luck with VAR in the last few years but I do think Villa's goal should have stood.

It's nice to be on the right end of it after so many decisions going against us.

The players kept going until the very end and it was a brilliant performance.
