Wolves skipper backs Joao Gomes to learn from red card incident
Wolves captain Nelson Semedo has backed Joao Gomes to come back stronger and learn from his sending off in the defeat to Arsenal.

The Brazilian midfielder, who picked up his first yellow card in the first half for kicking the ball away, was given his marching orders in the second 45 for a rash challenge on Jurrien Timber as he attempted to win the ball back.
He will now miss the upcoming West Midlands derby against Villa but captain Semedo believes the 23-year-old will learn from his mistake.
"Joao is still young but he’s experienced and he’s won a lot of things," Semedo said.
"He’s in the national team, he’s a very good player, he’s helped us a lot and I’m pretty sure he knows what he’s done wrong and what he’s done well.
"I’m sure he will learn from it.
"He’s a very important player and we have to keep him confident so he can help when he’s available."
Wolves are in the midst of a tough run of fixtures that only get more difficult, with Liverpool to come after the Villa clash.
But they then face some more favourable fixtures, including huge tests against relegation rivals, and Semedo insists the belief in the dressing rooms remains strong and that the team will drag themselves out of trouble.
"My belief in this group is 200 per cent," Semedo added.
"I know everyone is working hard, the staff are working hard.
"I believe in this team, we have some great players.
"We are playing against good teams, that’s true. We’ll do better."
In the defeat to Arsenal, Wolves threw away a numerical advantage after Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off in the first half.
The hosts were unable to capitalise on having the extra man before Gomes' red card, which was quickly followed by Riccardo Calafiori's winning goal.
Semedo said: "We had a good opportunity to take some points, especially when we were playing with one more player.
"We should have taken advantage of that, but even with 11, we felt that they had more ball than us. I think, in general, we did a good job."
Wolves also missed some chances, with Matheus Cunha coming close on two occasions during a good spell in the second half.
But Semedo expects the star forward to bounce back from those missed chances and fire Wolves to safety.
He said: "We have to be smarter on those points. Matheus will score again, he’s been scoring a lot.
"We have to move on. We did a good game against a very good team.
"We had the ball, we created chances, but we have to move on.
"We have a full week to work and plan for the Aston Villa game."
