Wolves reject Millwall bid for midfielder

The 22-year-old is attracting interest from the London club, as well as Swansea and Bristol City, among a number of Championship sides.

Millwall have now made their first bid to take Cundle on a permanent deal, but the Express & Star understands Wolves have rejected their offer.

Cundle, who came through the Wolves academy, almost moved in the summer but a switch to Stoke failed to materialise after Wolves rejected their bid.

He has since failed to play a single minute for the first team this season, in a frustrating campaign, and all parties are working on securing him a move away before the transfer window closes on February 3.

A permanent deal is seen as preferable to give the player a fresh start at a new club, but if any suitor fails to meet Wolves' valuation of him, he could still leave on loan.

Both Stoke and Bristol City expressed interest in signing Cundle last January when he was on loan at Plymouth, but instead Wolves agreed to send him on loan to the Potters until the end of the season.

Before that, his first loan spell was at Swansea, who have now considered coming back in for him.

Cundle burst onto the scene in the Wolves first team until Bruno Lage in the second half of the 2021/22 season and was then handed a new contract that expires in 2026.
