Wolves boss makes plea to fans as he bids to increase confidence
Vitor Pereira has pleaded with the Wolves fans to get behind his struggling players as they bid to avoid relegation this season.
A number of players - such as Hwang Hee-chan and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde - are out of form and low on confidence and have come under criticism from supporters.
When asked about the criticism aimed at certain players, Pereira launched a passionate defence of them and pleased with fans to support them in a long monologue.
"I use the example of Hee-chan, he scored 13 goals last season," Pereira said.
"If he scored 13 goals last season, he has the condition to score this season.
"Sometimes you have players that are under criticism and they deal with the critics.
"He's our player, in training he's trying to do his best and he's fighting with himself to have confidence to score.
"He's punishing himself in training and in games - and it means he needs help.
"This is the time to support him, not when he scores goals. When he scores goals he's flying and everybody will be here to help him, but this is the moment to help him.
"This is not the moment to criticise our players, this is the moment to help our players and give confidence to them, to get from them the best version of themselves.
"This is the moment, not tomorrow. Today.
"This is my work, giving confidence to everybody and playing at your best level.
"If you miss a goal, no problem. The next time you will shoot and you will score.
"I had a fantastic striker in my career and he stopped scoring for two months in training and in games.
"He tried and tried in training, he wanted to finish every day, and I said 'stop, calm down, don't think too much. Enjoy your game'.
"This is what I'm saying to Hee-chan, enjoy your game, enjoy your qualities, enjoy your life and in the moment don't think too much.
"Don't listen too much (to criticism) because confidence comes from inside of us. When we start to listen, we start to think a lot and when you think a lot about bad things you start to feel bad. This is the problem.
"Our supporters want our club to win games and the players play the game - so we need to support them and give them confidence.
"This is the moment for Hee-chan, for Bellegarde. The players are trying to understand the system and the way we are playing.
"This is a moment not to criticise, but to help them."
