Dave Edwards: A week is a long time in football and Wolves' transformation is terrific

It has been a superb festive period for his side, and to have taken seven points from nine since he came in at Molineux is brilliant. 

All of a sudden, the place has a very different feel to it. Wolves are out of the bottom three and going into games thinking they can win them with the way they are set up. 

That is down to the manager. Firstly for motivating the players in the right way, but then also setting them up well tactically - that is where I have seen the biggest difference. 

It was a wonderful atmosphere on Boxing Day against Manchester United. 

I was lucky enough to be at the game, and as it was Pereira's first home match, it was always set up to be a good evening. 

Wolves delivered a controlled measured performance. I thought they were the better team by far. 

When the sending-off of Bruno Fernandes came about, they put their foot down and got the goal. After that, they went back into their shape, and while there were a few nervy moments as they saw out the game, Manchester United did not work Jose Sa at all. 

So it was a professional performance to back up the win at Leicester. 

That gave them a free hit going into the Tottenham game because they have picked up six points from two matches already, and all of a sudden there is renewed optimism. 

I was in the away end, and fans were expectant again rather than thinking 'How many are we going to lose by today?' 

You look at Spurs' team on paper, it still has so much talent in it, especially at the top end of the pitch - but you just feel Wolves can stay in games and get chances.

I am sure Pereira would have loved to have selected the same team again, but it is a busy period, and he was forced into changes. 

It was great to see Hwang Hee-Chan scoring in back-to-back games and looking like he was last season. He looked sharper, and he was making good runs. It was not necessarily the game for him, but his performances mean he has now become an option to start or come off the bench - that has not always been the case this season. 

They would have been disappointed to concede off a set piece. It is an area they have looked better in recently - you see them working on it before kick-off, so a free header was a shame. 

They trailed for the first time under Pereira in the game too, so it was interesting to see how the boss was going to react, and he did so with some terrific substitutions. 

I feel that is something he has done so well since he came in. He makes changes at the right times in games.

Goncalo Guedes looks a completely different player under the new boss, and in Matheus Cunha's expected absence moving forward, he may be able to fill those shoes. 

They are out of the bottom three, and they will be looking at the teams above them like Everton and Crystal Palance thinking 'We can catch them.' 

That certainly was not the case a few weeks ago. One of my favourite sayings is a week is a long time in football - and it is still true. 

They are light in defence, and the injury to Toti Gomes is not going to help.

A special mention must go to Santi Bueno at the heart of that defence against Spurs, and the same too for Matt Doherty.
