Three of Albion's star youngsters have moved on loan to Iceland in a bid to toughen them up for first-team football.

Young professionals Sam Mantom and Lateef Elford-Alliyu, along with youth team winger Kayleden Brown, have joined clubs in the Icelandic top flight for summer action.

Brown, aged 18, and 17-year-old Elford Alliyu have joined Keflavik while Mantom, who signed his first professional contract this week, has linked up with newly-promoted Haukar.

Albion academy manager Mark Harrison said: "Not only are the boys in Iceland being taken out of their comfort zone, they are actually being put into a totally different culture.

"Hopefully they will come back more mature and experienced and ready for that big wide world, where they will hopefully go out on loan to a League One or Two club."
