Mark Bradley today vowed to reclaim his Walsall spot after his break and declared "I'm ready for action".

The midfielder hasn't started since the stalemate at Gillingham at the end of January and is desperate to finish the season with a bang.

The Saddlers go to Southend on Tuesday and Bradley is hopeful his recent rest will benefit him.

"I'm refuelled and I'm ready," he said. "It's a bit of a break and to be honest it's a bit depressing when you're not playing but I'm going to keep working hard and keep doing my job.

"I didn't think I needed a rest but the gaffer did pull me aside and said I needed it because I looked a big leggy but I still came off the bench at Leeds when I was resting and did well there."

But the 22-year-old insists he is not one to sulk on the bench and is determined to win his place back.

"You need to have the right attitude and work hard at your game," said the Wales Under-21 international.

"I want to get back in the team, get as many games as I can under my belt and we'll see what happens.

"We're not going to relax, we want to get in to that top 10 and we want to finish as high as possible."
