We've found a few half-term beach breaks starting from just £99 - but they're running out

October half term has a nasty habit of becoming very expensive very quickly, particularly if you leave booking a family getaway until the last minute.

But last minute holidays can offer the best deals, and we've found a few short breaks by the seaside for just £99.

The £99 starting price covers the accommodation rather than a per-person rate, and it's available at a few of the beachside holiday parks run by Parkdean Resorts.

Some of the accommodation can sleep up to six people, so a family filling every bed could theoretically be paying from £16.50 each for the entire break.

Depending on how much you pay, which dates you opt for, and how far you want to travel, there are parks close to beaches in Cornwall, Wales, Norfolk, Yorkshire, and elsewhere around the coast.

The £99 deals include short stays, with two, three and four-night breaks available depending on the park and dates selected. Most of the options cost more than £99, but if you hunt around on the Parkdean website and you're not too choosy, there are bargains to be had at either end of the half-term week.

Several Parkdean locations also come with on-site facilities and activities, so a change in the weather doesn't necessarily mean spending the entire holiday staring mournfully through the caravan window.

Some of the most appealing options are around Cornwall, where parks such as Crantock Beach and Holywell Bay put visitors close to some spectacular stretches of coastline.

There are also coastal parks elsewhere in England, Scotland and Wales, but not all parks offer £99 breaks in half term week, and the cheapest breaks tend to disappear first, particularly around the most convenient school holiday dates.
