When change was changed
When they changed the change in our pockets
Did it make us less patriotic?
I mean when we went decimal
Did we become less deferential as well?
After all, they took all the royal lineage away
When they gave us this new way to pay
Victoria, your Edwards, your Georges
All disappeared from our coinage
An early example of cancel culture?
What effect did this suppression of the past have upon our future?
Our history would have been a living thing
With a pocket full of our queens and our kings
Then come 15 February 1971 and all that living history — gone!
Alan Jones, Halesowen
Silly walks at supermarket
I spotted a man about my age in a supermarket car park and his confident strut gave him an air of really cool, (smooth or hip?). Could I carry off such a look? After all, just like him I'm bald, overweight, in my 70s. Alas, I don't quite fit the criteria. I don't have bandy legs piped into incredibly tight skinny jeans. On second thoughts, he didn't look cool; he looked absolutely ridiculous. It looked as though the legs were an afterthought. I can look silly enough with a lot less effort.

Differences are there to see
If Tony Curzon cannot see the difference between Putin/Ukraine and Trump/Venezuela then there is indeed no hope.
Russian attack on Ukraine is pure genocide, with Putin openly saying he wants Ukraine to cease to exist as a nation. Trump abducted Dictator Maduro - who has lost the last two elections by a huge margin but ignored the result, and is oppressing all opposition and the people of Venezuela. Maduro is like Putin, who has killed anyone who opposed him and declared himself 'President Dictator for life', without the need for any messy elections. Putin and Maduro have both trashed their countries economy for ideology and kept their citizens in poverty.

Do we need link?
Why on earth do we need a Metro link Dudley to Wednesbury? Why would people want to go to Wednesbury? And why would people of Wednesbury want to come to Dudley? What a complete waste of my money.
Colin Hubbard, Dudley
