GANGSTER TALK IN THE OVAL OFFICE

"Gonna make you an offer ya can't refuse."

The pre-scripted drama in the Oval Office was certainly worthy of yet another Godfather film.

The Don and his capo bastone, Vance, made it clear that unless the little Ukrainian fella didn't accept the offer, he might find his business in flames and a horse's head next to him when he wakes up.

I have on the one hand been a fan of much of what Trump does but on the other, find him totally obnoxious.

The sight of him, his huge overbearing frame and personality trying to browbeat Zelensky was pretty awful. The fact that he seems to think that the sun shines out of Putin's rear end is also a worry for the world. He is destroying the unity of the West which has existed for some 80 years.

Yes, he has every reason to demand the West's greater financial involvement but destruction of unity brings a smile to the enemies of the US and Europe.

He treats the leaders of foreign friendly powers as though they are vassal States of the US and the likes of Keir "Yes sir, no sir three bags full sir. I've got a letter for you from the king sir "Starmer gladly rolled over and allowed Trump to stroke his belly."

I'M NOT PAYING FOR STADIUM

So the 'World's Greatest Football Club' - their description - want to build a new stadium in Manchester.

Cost alleged to be in the region of £2billion. And they feel that they are entitled to either low interest loans or grants from Government to help pay for it.

Short answer: Sod off.

Why should the rest of us subsidise their expansionist plans? Especially as they seem incapable of running their present business at a profit. How much help have they, as a company, offered to other clubs in trouble with their finances? Judging by comments from one of their owners, could they be trusted with keeping costs under control of such a plan? It's a pretty safe bet that if cost today is as they say, what would final cost actually be? A figure of £3-4billion has already been mentioned. And what about the huge debt they have to service already? The list could go on.

No, no advance or cheap loans, you want it, pay for it yourself.

ACTOR'S THANKS TO BUS STATION

I would like to day a big thank you to the lovely bus driver of the X8 bus to Wolverhampton bus station who found and returned my backpack with my iPad in.

And thank-you also to the kind bus station manager and his colleagues, who radioed round to find it and then hung onto it whilst I finished performing the matinee at the Grand Theatre Wolverhampton.

They were all so helpful and it saved my day from being ruined!
