STUDENTS PAYING FOR THE FAT CATS

An education can be very useful in life.

The people at the top of the food chain are vice chancellors of universities. They took an average of £325,000 in 2022-23 with perks and bonuses on top. Oxford's vice chancellor took over a million pounds last year.

Who paid for that? Student’s tuition fees were £9,250 last year set to rise to £9,535 this year. The maximum is £9,250 and strangely they all charge that. Typically the student takes out a loan to pay the tuition fees and a further loan to cover living costs. The loans are at commercial rates. A living cost loan can be up to £13,262 per year. They repay the loans plus interest for up to 45 years!

So fat cats sit at the top of the food chain and skinny students get to pay off their necessary loans over up to 45 years. That's a hell of a millstone to have round your neck to keep the fat cats nice and fat.

IT'S ALREADY TIME TO MAKE CHANGE

In response to a letter from Roger Cain and his wish to rejoin the paradise and utopia of the socialist disaster zone that has been the EU. Maybe we could also have another vote - of 'no confidence' in the current shambles - the Labour charlatans who occupy No 10 and 11, and this whole government.

After all - post 2016 and Brexit - socialist - leftist Starmer didn't seem to like "democracy in action" and did his upmost to reverse the will of the people - through his red tinted expensive (and free) spectacles and his twisted view of this country. Following his mantra - after six months of him and Reeves, Rayner and Milibland - it's time for change. Ask the pensioners - ask the farmers - ask the oil industry workers and all the other people / groups, Starmer and his ilk have no care for and no concern for. The man is an utter disaster for the UK - as many of us predicted he would be. Just look at his opinion poll ratings crashing through the floor together with his socialist party.

Starmer achieved power on a complete sham of a "manifesto" - pure deceit.

ELECTRIC CARS STILL HAVE NOISE

There's talk about having EVs fitted with some sort of noise generating system.

Well I have an electric motorcycle and I have seen walkers on country lanes react to my presence at least a third of a mile away as there is a certain level of motor and tyre noise which even I can hear wearing earplugs. I also wonder how many people were knocked down by the once ubiquitous milk float?
