17. Butler's Brewery, Wolverhampton, 1953
Preparations for a national celebration were well under way at Butler's Brewery in Wolverhampton in June 1953. This warehouse was packed with barrels of beer ready for Coronation festivities, as pubs and clubs across the region prepared to mark the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II. Do you remember the Coronation celebrations, or have family stories of how your street or local celebrated the occasion? | Express & Star archive

18. Bilston, 1961
A coffin-shaped collection box may seem unusual today, but in 1961 it became a symbol of Bilston’s campaign against plans to incorporate the town into Wolverhampton. This photograph shows 16-year-old Carol Mountford making her contribution to the Save Bilston Fund. Can you remember the strength of feeling in Bilston at the time? | Express & Star archive

19. St Peter’s Gardens, Wolverhampton, 1962
Some photographs preserve more than just a moment in time - they preserve memories of people. This May 1962 image shows sisters Marjorie, May and Dorothy Crosbie waiting at St Peter’s Gardens, Wolverhampton, hoping to see the Queen for the first time. Decades later, the picture was shared by Keith Cattell, who remembered the sisters as childhood neighbours. Can you recognise anyone from this scene, or do you have memories of royal visits to the area? | Express & Star archive
