Wolverhampton man who opened cafe in his home town celebrates a year of living his business dream
A homegrown Black Country entrepreneur who opened a cafe in the neighbourhood he grew up in has celebrated its one-year anniversary with a staff trip to Alton Towers.

Reece Lambert, owner of Reece's Cafe, marked the day of celebration this week with half-price sandwiches and free cheesecake for customers, and also took his staff out to Alton Towers to celebrate their one-year anniversary.
The Wolverhampton lad, who opened the business, his first-ever business in the area he grew up in, shared his delight at the work that has gone into it, one year on.

Reece said: "The day went really well, everyone loved the sandwiches and especially the cheesecakes, which flew out! The cheesecakes are always really popular and sell out all the time.
"There was a nice excitement and buzz around the place, and we were busier than normal and received great support.
"I feel more than blessed to be here a year on. All I have heard is that most businesses fail within that first year period, and so the fact that I've made it and we're still here, people still come here regularly - it is a blessing, and I'm so grateful that I'm still here.

"Don't get me wrong, it has been a hard year, the first year in business - trying to master it, learning as I go along but it has been fantastic.
"Now the business has got to the point that it runs itself and now we just need to keep it going - it's my first business but not my last.
"Me and my staff have pulled through with hard work."
Reece previously told the Express & Star about how as a teen he dreamed of opening his business in this very building, and thankfully, at the age of 27, after hard work and determination, he was able to achieve that dream.
He added: "People love coming here and they love the food, that's why they return.
"And I want to make the point of saying, if it wasn't for the staff here, it wouldn't be here - I want to thank them all.
"We went out to Alton Towers for the day as a thank you from myself, and it was a nice day of bonding, keeping morale high.

"I also want to thank everyone that visited in the year, especially a particular set of workers that work on the skips, they come here every day.
"Thank you to everyone, strangers, friends, staff and customers - they are the reason we are here celebrating the one-year anniversary."
Reece also revealed that just like he did in Christmas 2022, he will be opening the cafe to serve Christmas dinners to homeless people around Wolverhampton, or anyone wanting company or some food, his cafe will once again be open on the festive day.
Reece's Cafe is located on Old Heath Road, Eastfield, Wolverhampton, and they offer deliveries via food delivery services Uber Eats and JustEat.
