Where to get your sausage rolls in Wolverhampton now that Greggs has upped its prices - including the cheapest
Sausage roll prices at Greggs were raised last week, going up to £1.30 and leaving many to question if the well-loved pastry snack is worth the dough.

Getting the 11am urge for a snack is something everyone has battled with during the working-week and the choices are vast for how you want to fill said urge, and a sausage roll is always on the menu for most when taking a quick break from the daily grind.
One of the region's favourites - Greggs - was pumping them out at 85p a pop back in 2016, making it a solid choice for a sneaky treat without breaking the bank.
But fast-forward nine years and that price has almost doubled, leaving many to question if it's really worth the price - especially with so many other options across the city of Wolverhampton.
And since there are more options than Greggs, we've spoken to a few to see what they knock their rolls out at to try and work out which is the best option for a sausage-filled goodie.
Whether it's Pound Bakery or an independent, here's a few options - including he city's cheapest and one that is slightly more expensive but in the shop's opinion is well worth the extra 15p.

Pound Bakery
Starting with the cheapest hot-food seller, Pound Bakery has been tucked in the city centre for just over a decade, and you can grab a freshly made hot sausage roll for £1.
The shop's manager, Nicola Taylor, 43, said it's a 'pleasure' to be able to provide sausage rolls at a price that she feels is better for the pockets of the customers.
She said: "I think the Greggs price increase is not worth it, not good value for money. We sell ours for £1 and that's what we focus on.
"We're really happy to be able to serve ours at the price we do, often customers will comment on the fact it's cheaper and that the food is always really hot. We like knowing customers are happy."

One of the comments some make, however, are not having heard of the brand until seeing it in the city centre.
Nicola added: "A lot of people will pop in and say they've not heard of us before, so for us visibility and getting the word out about the company is important.
"We celebrated our 10-year anniversary last year and it's great to see the place get more popular as each year passes by."

Fresh Food Fast
The second option is technically the cheapest, but it's not quite the Greggs competitor given that it's served cold. It costs just 75p per sausage roll.
The place in question is called Fresh Food Fast, and is rather combatively placed just across from Pound Bakery. The popular food shop serves all your usual favourite baguettes, sandwiches and cakes - and also offers a selection of hot meals.
The only catch is they come in a pack of two for £1.50.

Pete's Farmhouse
If the cost it not too much of a problem and you just want a bigger portion, there's an option in the Wulfrun - Pete's Farmhouse - that will set you back 15p more than a Greggs sausage roll - £1.45.
And one of its employees, Janice Hardware, 55, who has worked at the shop for 38 years, said the quality is well worth the extra pennies.
Janice, said: "They're all made each morning at our bakery in Bilston and brought over ready for the day.

"I think handmade is better than machine-made, and you tend to find that the sausages have a higher quantity of pork in them which is why I personally don't like chain stores who sell them."
"If you make something on the day and sell it that day, you'll get a better product.
"We have been here for years, and we sell around 400 sausage rolls a week, and they're especially popular on the weekend."

Katie's Kitchen
Finally, another cheaper option is a second place based in the Wulfrun. Katie's Kitchen knocks out huge sausage rolls for just £1.20.

The buzzing café is littered with positive reviews online, with many stating how good the service and food is at the place.
One of the reviews was written by John N. Sheila Hillman, he said: "Everything she cooks is amazing, definitely recommend, they are lovely people and so nice and friendly."
