Braian Nahuel Paiz is suspected of supplying drugs to Liam Payne before the One Direction star tragically died in Argentina

Three people have been arrested so far after the One Direction star tragically died last month after falling from the third-storey window of his hotel suite in Buenos Aires.

Among the arrested is hotel waiter, Braian Nahuel Paiz, who is suspected of supplying Liam with drugs in the ongoing investigation.

Speaking to Argentinian journalist, Guillermo Panizza, the 24-year-old broke his silence over the singer's death, admitting to meeting Liam in his hotel room twice before his fatal fall on October 16.

The waiter also confessed to taking drugs with Liam but insisted that he never supplied the singer with narcotics or accepted any money from him.

The waiter appeared on local TV news channel, Telefe Noticias, to protest his innocence, before also showing a previously unseen photo of Liam only days before his death.

The photo shows Liam dressed in a cream New York Yankees cap and hoodie while flashing a peace sign.

Claiming they exchanged details before Braian went to meet Liam in the hotel, the waiter said: "I never took drugs to Ohim or accepted any money."

The restaurant worker is said to have been let go from his job after his implication in the ongoing investigation, also becoming the second person linked to Liam to speak out.

Previously, Liam's close friend, Rogelio 'Roger' Nores, also protested his innocence after being named locally as one of three under investigation.

Mr Nores, who had previously been described as the singer's 'manager', faced allegations that he had also abandoned the singer before his death.

In a statement, he said: "I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened.

"There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen."

The new information comes after Liam's father, Geoff, faced an agonising wait in Buenos Aires while toxicology tests were conducted. Geoff returned to the UK with his son's body last Thursday.

The funeral is expected to take place in Liam's hometown of Wolverhampton.
