Wolverhampton singer to perform at London country festival

A talented Wolverhampton singer and musician is getting set for undoubtedly the biggest show of her life - performing at a country music festival in London.
Emma Swindells, from Coalway Road in Penn, is to star at the C2C Country 2 Country Festival on Saturday at London's O2.
The gig is one like no other for the 23-year-old singer-songwriter who in recent years has been performing in pubs and clubs all over the UK itching to get noticed.
But her biggest date in her diary is fast approaching after her application to perform at the annual event was a success.
Country 2 Country is an annual two-day music festival created by AEG Europe and SJM Concerts in association with the Country Music Association.
It takes place every March and, after just two years, has become Europe's largest country music festival. It attracts more than 50,000 fans across the weekend.
This year has seen the festival expand further with more events happening during last weekend at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo's Spektrum Arena in Norway.
Headliners who will perform on the Saturday include Luke Bryan, Lee Ann Womack and Brandy Clark.
Emma, who has got more than 300 likes on her Facebook page, told the Express & Star she couldn't wait to play.
"It's all very exciting, this will be my biggest performance by far," the former St Edmunds Catholic Academy pupil said.
"To be playing at such a big venue where such great artists have performed is just unbelievable.
"I've been interested in music from a very young age and was lucky to be at a school where it had such a brilliant music department.
"I can't wait to show fans from all over the world what I can do and all the songs I will play will be from my own material.
"This is a great chance to show what I can do and progress further."
