A new bride has been left devastated after raiders stole her wedding band and engagement ring during a break-in.

Cally Webster, aged 26, and husband Adam, 50, were targeted just one month after tying the knot at The Mill Barns in Alveley, near Bridgnorth.

Mrs Webster’s engagement ring, which cost £3,339, and her £299 wedding ring were stolen – along with keepsakes, such as the earrings and lipstick she wore on the big day.

Her laptop, purse, house keys, and car keys were also stolen. The car, however, was not taken.

It is believed the raiders folded back barbed wire and used a ladder to get into the garden of the rented property in Wrenbury Drive, Wolverhampton, before gaining access through the back door.

The door could not be shut because it had been broken for weeks, despite several complaints to their landlord, the couple claimed. The incident happened last Thursday.

Mrs Webster said: “I have been so ecstatic about the wedding but now it has taken the shine out of our day. We have only been married a month, it is heart breaking.

“It was just a normal evening when we were robbed. I took my rings off and put them on the sideboard to do some cleaning before we both went to bed.

“When Adam woke up, he came downstairs and could not find my keys but I kept insisting they were on the sideboard.

“When I came downstairs, I could not see them and then I noticed my laptop was gone. Then it hit me what had happened.

“I do not even want to be in the house because I feel unsafe. It is terrible to think they came into our house while we were asleep. I would trade my car in just so I could get my rings back.”

The couple have since had their locks replaced.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of a burglary at a property in Wrenbury Drive, Wolverhampton overnight on October 25.

“It is believed someone entered the property via the back door, searching the house and the car before leaving with a laptop as well as wedding and engagement rings.
