A different picture will be shown on the third Monday of every month at the Bilston Town Hall on Church Street, which dates back to 1872.

The building has recently been restored through the Government's Towns Fund accelerator funding which saw electrical upgrades, backstage improvements and the installation of an independent stage lighting rig and digital noticeboard.

The cinema screenings had previously been led by the Friends of Bilston Town Hall for a decade but will now be run by Wolverhampton Council.

Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal, Wolverhampton Council cabinet member for visitor city, said: "We are continuing to improve the visitor experience at this historic venue and the new film club further enhances the offer.

"The sensitive restoration and improvements we have made to the Grade II-listed building now give us scope to provide a variety of entertainment to attract visitors to the town and support the local community.

"Bilston Town Hall is very much part of our plans to make Wolverhampton a thriving visitor city that in turn boosts businesses and creates jobs."

The film club comes as part of a range of community activities that will be put on at the venue, including tea dances to be held every Wednesday, as well as the meetings of the Black Country Society from June 28.

There is also a line-up of comedy stars set to take to the stage at the town hall, including Tom Stade, Alfie Moore and Richard Blackwood and Kane Brown.

The next screening will take place on Monday and will feature the movie "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry", with doors opening at 12.45pm and the film starting at 1.30pm.
