Asbo yobs made life a misery

Four yobs who waged an "appalling" campaign of violence and threats against families in Wolverhampton have been given Asbos.

Brothers Keyron and Dominic Foxall, aged 16 and 17, Shaun Blick, 15, and Anthony Smith, 17, made life a misery for long-suffering residents in St Michael's Court, Tettenhall.

Their bullying behaviour included: throwing bricks and stones at windows; vile sexual remarks directed at one resident and regular verbal abuse; Keyron punching one man in the face and pinning his terrified girlfriend against a wall and a threat by one yob to have a victim "down a dark alley".

One woman was so sickened by their behaviour, which spanned several months, she kept a diary in which she blamed the Foxall brothers and Blick for making one elderly resident's life a misery. The diary also reported how the Foxalls and Blick would shout and scream insults at people in the street, near Lower Green.

Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court was told yesterday the Foxalls were the "main instigators" of the trouble and bullied one of the victim's sons, with Keyron later attacking the father.

All four were given two-year Asbos by District Judge Martin Brown, who warned they could be locked up for a maximum of five years if the trouble continued.

"Your behaviour is appalling," the judge told the Foxalls. "Having heard some of your disgraceful behaviour, we're satisfied both of you have acted in an anti-social manner.

"You made the lives of those living in St Michael's Court a misery." Keyron's victim who was punched, a postman, told the court of the attack: "It was a bit chaotic. A few of them were shouting abuse. Keyron knocked the phone out of my hand."

A bid by defence lawyers to ban the Express & Star from naming the louts, on the grounds it would "damage" their prospects, was rejected by Mr Brown.

The Foxalls, of St Michael's Court, admitted anti-social behaviour as did Blick, who has now moved to Cannock Road, Park Village. Smith denied any wrongdoing but his anti-social behaviour was proven after a short trial.

Catherine Rowlands, for the city council, said Smith, of Kendal Rise, Tettenhall, was involved when bricks were thrown at a window.

* The Asbo terms ban the Foxalls from anti-social behaviour towards any persons and are banned from throwing missiles. Blick and Smith are banned from the St Michael's Court area.
