West Midlands residents of one special postcode can visit Shakespeare sites for free this summer

It serves as a great opportunity to learn about the area’s most famous former local.

West Midlands locals living in the postcode of CV37 will be able to visit sites managed by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust for completely free of charge.

The postcode, CV37, covers Stratford-upon-Avon and parts of some villages such as Snitterfield, Welford-on-Avon, and Tiddington.

This is part of Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s ‘Residents Go Free’ scheme that’s on this summer.

The scheme began in Spring 2025, and since it began more than 5000 residents have taken advantage of the offer.

Those that live in these areas should be able to access Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Shakespeare’s New Place Gardens.

As part of this scheme, residents can attend these sites for free of charge.

They can also bring along a guest along and they'll enjoy half price admission (adult and child prices apply, to a maximum of four guest tickets per booking).

Rachael North, Chief Executive of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, said: “With events and activities taking place throughout the summer, we are pleased to continue to offer permanent Stratford residents free access to Shakespeare’s homes. I hope the CV37 community takes advantage of the opportunity to explore our shared heritage together and make new connections at our sites.”
