Now, as a GoFundMe appeal is less than £800 away from its target, a bar in Solihull has offered to host a special event to show support for his loved ones as O’Gara’s sister is one of their beloved regulars.

Strawberry Fields, which is located on the Stratford Road in Shirley known for it’s late-night bar DJs and live music, will host the public event on July 11 as 'an opportunity to remember' Matt O'Gara.

On social media, Strawberry Fields posted: "On Saturday July 11, we will be holding a very special evening in memory of Matt O’Gara, who was tragically taken far too soon.

"Matt’s sister, Emma, has been a much-loved regular at Strawbs over the years, and the O’Gara family are part of our local community.

"In the face of such heartbreaking loss, we want to come together as a community to show our love, support, and solidarity with Matt’s family and friends.

"The evening will be an opportunity to remember Matt, and raise funds that will be passed on to the family during this incredibly difficult time.

"If any local businesses or individuals would like to donate a gift, voucher, prize, or service for the raffle taking place on the night, it would be greatly appreciated.

"Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us raise as much as possible for the family. Please drop us a message if you would like to contribute or message Louise Hopkins

"More details will be announced over the coming days, but for now, please save the date and keep Matt’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

"With love and deepest sympathy, from all of us at Strawbs."
