Wanted driver arrested after dramatic foot chase through Tipton

A wanted driver was arrested following a lengthy foot pursuit through gardens and a building site in Tipton, West Midlands Police have said.

Officers from the force’s Road Crime Team spotted a car being driven by a man who was wanted in connection with several offences and was also disqualified from driving.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect abandoned the car and fled on foot.

A dramatic relay-style chase then unfolded, with officers pursuing the man through residential gardens and across a nearby building site.

After an extensive search and pursuit, the suspect was eventually detained and arrested by officers.

West Midlands Police said the man was wanted for a number of offences and remains in custody while enquiries continue.
