Police have celebrated one of its star dogs after he sniffed out drugs during patrols in Walsall town centre.

The dog known as PD Tez and his handler PC Savanna Palmer assisted police officers from St Matthew’s for an operation which tackled hotspot areas in the town centre for anti-social behaviour.
Here, West Midlands Police said two people were stopped and searched on Tuesday and a small amount of cannabis and heroin was recovered.
The two people were dealt with by community resolution and referred to drugs services for support.
PC Katie Hubbard, local action team officer at Walsall, said: “There was lots of really good engagement with shoppers and other people in the town centre.
“Anti-social behaviour has an impact on people’s lives and we want people to be able to come into the town centre to shop and work and not have to face issues of ASB.”
